This is awesome - I’m a huge fan of Slovenia, having lived in Friuli (Aviano Air Base) as a kid in the late 70s/early 80s (yes…). Gorizia was a frequent destination and I’m itching to get back for hiking/biking/skiing/etc.

Are you planning to do some mapping there? Is there anything we could help with? Looking forward to seeing where you take this (& us!).

Welcome! Jeff

Hi!

Yes, I’ve done a few posts in Slovenia already, mainly in the old town of Kranj, which is close to where I live, but I’ve also recently ventured a bit into the capital Ljubljana (I’m thinking of adding Roman Emona…). I have also added a couple of castles elsewhere in Slovenia.

So far I haven’t done much other than buildings, because I need to learn a bit more about entering other things into OHM, and also because building data is the most accessible.

I’ve also tried with some old maps, though I’m not having much success with displaying them in the ID editor. I might also look into importing some of my contributions to OSM, as some of them are already a few years old …

Although I’ve been mapping with OSM for a while, I don’t have much experience with OHM yet, so I’d be happy to be alerted (by you or anyone else) to any mistakes :), but I’m trying my best - in short, I’m happy for any cooperation! As far as I can see, there are no projects specifically in Slovenia yet …
