The street that has existed for 150 years that never existed

This is a fascinating discussion! Benjamin - please check your messages, as I’ve sent you a note that’s better shared there than here.

Hayden - thanks also for writing such an interesting and provocative diary entry! : )

State of mapping (in my opinion) and where improvements could be made

@MrMap - Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! I totally agree that we need better coverage at the country level, around the world. Even in Europe, there is a lot of opportunity for improvement. We’ll be putting together a more coherent content strategy to try to encourage greater coverage in the near future. Stay tuned!

p.s. the best place to keep up to date with OHM discussions is on the OHM Community Forum!

Great post, Richard! Thanks for putting the time in. I’d love to hear what others think, what questions they have, etc.

Hi Guys

Hi!!

Apologies for responding so slowly… I typically monitor the @historic mailing list - are you on that? https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/historic

A history of the Elevated system would be fantastic - are you a coder & still interested? This is one of the more important needs for development. We have github accounts here: https://github.com/OpenHistoricalMap

Hi are you guys all on the historic@ mailing list?

I apologize that I haven’t been monitoring these posts.

A getting started guide would be great - this blog (posted today) might be a good starting point: http://sk53-osm.blogspot.com/2014/12/city-stripping-building-historical-road.html
